Food_App1_NewAnalysis of Furan and Alkylfurans in Food Commodities by SPME Arrow GC-MS
In this study, SPME Arrow sample preparation was tested for the analysis of furan and alkylfurans in baby formula and coffee samples. Optimized conditions were established for GC-MS analysis using a PAL CTC autosampler and an Rxi-624Sil MS column. Results demonstrated the method may be suitable for diverse sample types containing both high and low concentrations of furan and alkylfurans.

Restek_Food_App2_NewComprehensive Mycotoxin Analysis: Simultaneous Determination of Alternaria Toxins, Ergot Alkaloid Epimers, and Other Major Mycotoxins in Various Food Matrices by LC-MS/MS
In this study, a simplified sample preparation procedure and a reliable LC-MS/MS analytical method were developed for the simultaneous analysis of 37 regulated and emerging mycotoxins, including five Alternaria toxins, six major ergot alkaloids and their corresponding epimers, and priority mycotoxins from other classes.

Restek_Food_App3_NewAnalysis of Ergot Alkaloid Mycotoxins in Blended Flour by LC-MS/MS Under Acidic Conditions
This application uses a Raptor Biphenyl column and acidic conditions to allow concurrent analysis of ergot alkaloids with other mycotoxins of interest. Suitability of this method for multiresidue mycotoxin testing provides food safety labs with a more efficient workflow and the time-saving benefit of combined analysis.

Restek_Food_App4_NewMulti-Mycotoxin Method for Alternaria Toxins, Ergot Alkaloid Epimers, and Other Major Mycotoxins in Food
Here, we show the simultaneous analysis of Alternaria toxins, ergot alkaloid epimers, and other major mycotoxins using a simple sample preparation procedure and a Raptor Biphenyl column run under acidic conditions. Under these column- and MS-friendly conditions, accurate quantitative results were obtained in a fast, 11-minute total cycle time run.

Restek_Food_App1Avoid Mycotoxin Quantitation Errors When Using Stable Isotope Dilution Assay (SIDA)
This application note shows how there are significant benefits to using the stable isotope dilution assay (SIDA) calibration approach for mycotoxin analyses — the biggest being able to use a single calibration curve for multiple matrix types.

Restek_Food_App2Speed Up Multiresidue Pesticides Analysis in Food with Low-Pressure GC-MS
Multiresidue pesticides analysis is a cornerstone of food safety testing, and labs are generally under pressure to manage both a high volume of samples and rapid turnaround time requirements. This application note demonstrates the speed gains of LPGC-MS pesticides analysis as an effective way to increase sample throughput in busy food labs needing faster methods.

Restek_Food_App3Simple Large Volume Injection Method for Trace-Level Glyphosate in Bottled Drinking Water
In the method for glyphosate in water shown here, an anion-exchange mechanism in the column provides enough retention under the initial mobile phase conditions to allow large volumes (500 μL) of bottled water to be injected, which is a very simple way to improve low-level sensitivity.

Analysis of Pesticides in Oranges: Exploring QuEChERS for Peel, Pulp, and Whole Fruit
This article discusses the analysis of pesticides in oranges using QuEChERS and looks at the effect of extracting whole fruit versus separate peel and pulp samples.

Restek_Food_App5

Robust GC Analysis of Glycerides in Edible Oils
The method described shows how labs performing GC analysis of glycerides in edible oils will benefit from the reproducible retention times, longer column lifetimes, and consistent performance of low-bleed Rxi-65TG columns.
